The One reason I was able to finish the race..

And Glorious it was! The Spartan race that is!

Manny and I decided to take a handful of our members up this past weekend to do a Spartan Beast race.

That race consisted of 13 miles of rugged terrain and 30 obstacles to cover on Bear Mountain. Yep, you read that right..

We started around 12:30 p.m. and finished after 7p.m. It was tough but it was worth it. And i must say this is what I was most impressed by..

We don’t do these often as a gym and when we do we make sure we take members that have been with us for a few years and we take ones that we think are physically ready for it..

The 13 miles and 30 obstacles weren’t even the hardest part about it..(Ya in Know!) haha it was the incline’s and the elevation!

7 miles in and the pain started to come on. Legs filled with blood, calves and low back super tight, covered in dirt and 6 miles to go..

Now this is how I felt so I could only imagine how the rest of our members felt!

But this is what i was most impressed by..

I was impressed by the resilience of our members..

I was impressed by their will to carry on..

i was impressed by their grit to push through the pain..

I was impressed, motivated, and proud all at the same time…

And once everyone crossed the finish line I realized how important it is to surround yourself with support and a good camaraderie. Because when things get tough, the people who are around you are going to be the ones to lift you up and make sure you never quit or give up on yourself.

At one point I just wanted it to be done and the inspiration i found to carry on came from the rest of the team.

So this letter is me just letting you guys know I’m grateful and proud of everyone..Thats it! ha

And once again its also a reminder to surround yourself with positive and like minded people who are share the same goals. Do that, and I promise you that you will surprise yourself and accomplish feats that you once thought weren’t possible.

You got this!

Have a great week everyone!

Yours in Strength & Health,
